ICSSR Sponsored Two-Day International Conference – September 27-28, 2024
The International Conference on ” Interdisciplinary Application of the Indian Value System in Modern Business” being organized by the Research and Development Board and IQAC Cell RDIAS in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia (proposed).
In the contemporary global business environment, there’s a growing recognition of the profound impact cultural values have on management practices. This acknowledgment is especially relevant in the context of Indian values, which offer a rich tapestry of ethics, principles, and philosophies deeply rooted in the country’s ancient traditions. As businesses worldwide strive for sustainability and inclusivity, integrating these values into global management practices presents an innovative pathway to achieving these goals.
The Indian value system, characterized by concepts such as Dharma (righteousness), Karma (action), and Ahimsa (non-violence), among others, provides a unique framework for addressing modern business challenges. These principles encourage a holistic approach to business, emphasizing ethical conduct, social responsibility, and a balanced pursuit of material and spiritual well-being. Such an approach is increasingly relevant in today’s globalized business landscape, where ethical dilemmas, environmental sustainability, and social inclusivity are at the forefront of corporate agendas.
This conference seeks to explore the relevance of Indian values in contemporary management studies and practices. It aims to foster a dialogue on how these age-old principles can inform and transform global management strategies to create more ethical, sustainable, and inclusive businesses. By examining the intersection of Indian values with various management disciplines—ranging from marketing and finance to HR and general management—the conference will provide insights into how these values can be integrated into global business practices for meaningful and mindful impact.
In doing so, the conference will address critical questions such as how Indian values can enhance ethical decision-making in businesses, the role of these values in promoting sustainability and social responsibility, and how they can contribute to creating more inclusive workplaces and societies. The dialogue will extend to practical strategies for incorporating Indian values into global business operations, leadership styles, and organizational cultures.
As businesses and economies continue to navigate the complexities of the 21st century, integrating Indian values into global management practices offers a promising avenue for
fostering sustainable growth and development. This conference invites scholars, practitioners, and thought leaders to engage in this important conversation, contributing to a future where business success is aligned with the well-being of society and the planet.
